# TacUNS Firewall

> Free Android firewall and security intelligence app by TacUNS™. No root, no account, no ads, no analytics. It uses Android's own VPN feature on the phone itself (there is no TacUNS server in the middle) to check every app before it goes online. Its filtering engine is written in Rust and runs on the phone. Android 10 and later. This describes TacUNS 2.0, which is on its way to Google Play. Until then, Google Play has the current version (1.x), which has the core firewall but not every feature below.

What leaves the phone, and only these: allowed website look-ups go to the DNS server the user chooses (Google or Cloudflare encrypted DNS by default, the network's own, or a custom one); protection lists are downloaded from their publishers; an optional on-phone AI model is downloaded only if the user turns it on. TacUNS sees which app connects to which website name or address and how much data moves, never what is inside a secure (HTTPS) connection.
